Salmon still eatable after it's been out for a while?

I was defrosting salmon from 8pm, then i forgot to put it away in the fridge. and the next morning it was still sitting on the counter. very soft and room temperture. i think it's been sitting out side more than 14 hours. salmon is very expensive, i don't want to throw it away. . then later i put back in the freezer since i decided not to make salmon. is this salmon still eatable?
