Guitar strings high action close to pickup?

Ian, if you have followed the excellent instructions provided by Norm and still are unable to lower the strings to an acceptable height, it may be that the angle of the neck in relation to the top of the body needs addressing. This latter adjustment is only necessary if the desired relationship of the strings to the frets cannot be remedied by raising or lowering the bridge or saddles, and requires strategically placing thin shims under the heel of the neck at the end nearest the bridge. If you choose to try this yourself, make sure the bolts securing the neck to the body are tight, and repeat the full setup to include intonation, neck curvature, pickup relationship to strings, bridge orientation, and saddle height. Best regards, Dana
